New Season

As each new season approaches, we’re proud to celebrate the blooming harvest of seasonal ingredients, that each part of the year provides us with. Our passion for locally sourced, fresh flavours offers our ever-evolving menu with a calendar of invigorated and perfectly designed dishes that we celebrate with every guest.

With tasting notes changing throughout each season too, our drinks menu reflects the very best of British hops and natural fruits that flavour our malts, ales and spirits. Whether the crisp leaves are falling, or the sunrays are beating down, your glass will always be filled with flavourings of the now, and together with our food make for the most perfect pairing.

Cask the ultimate craft

There are many different styles of cask beer to choose from - sometimes too many! One of the easiest ways to choose your ale is by colour:

Golden: these are light, crisp and refreshing. Flavours typically come from carefully chosen hops. English and German hops tend to be subtly fruity and American and other New World hops lean towards zesty citrus. If you're looking for a spritzy, aromatic drink - this is for you.

Amber: these are beautifully balanced and medium-bodied. Flavours come from lightly toasted malt rather than hops and tend to be fruity with gentle notes of biscuit and caramel. If you're looking for something easy drinking but full of flavour - this is for you.

Dark: these are full-bodied, complex and bold. Flavours come from rich, roasted malt so you can expect to taste treacle, coffee or chocolate with dried fruits like prunes and rasisins. If you're looking for something rich and indulgent - this is for you.

SOUTH-WEST LAMB

Spring is a perfect time for lamb, when our award-winning butchers can source high quality, Great British, naturally-reared lamb from the West Country.

The perfect flavour and tenderness of the meat comes as a result of the herb-filled coastal grazing pastures, which keeps the lamb in superb condition.

DEVON CRAB

The fishermen in this region only pick the largest crabs and return the rest safely to fully mature, this means the sweet flavour is never compromised and quality is always the very best.

The pot method of fishing is kind to the seabed and also ensures other sea-life doesn’t get captured or hurt. Recognised by the Marine Conservation Society as one of the most sustainable locations for pot-caught crab in the UK, we wouldn’t source our crab from anywhere else.

Grass-fed Beef

When it comes to beef, we believe quality and provenance are two crucial ingredients to achieving our goals for ethical and responsible sourcing. To help us achieve this, we only buy our beef from award-winning specialist butchers for grass-fed beef.
